Substance Rehab: Looking Ahead To Alcohol Recovery
Substance Rehab: Your Only Way Out
Sometimes substance rehab is your only salvation. If you don’t get help you’re going to lose your job. Your wife is going to take the kids and leave you and you know she’s not kidding. She’s already packed you a bag and told you that if you don’t want to lose her you’ll check yourself in immediately. You’re afraid and that’s normal. You don’t know what to expect. You’re afraid you won’t be able to handle it and the pressure just keeps mounting. Talk to counselors about your fear, it’s all part of the process.
Rapid Opiate Detox: There Are People Who Will Help You
The idea of doing a rapid opiate detox if it works excites you but it’s also a little scary. You want to kick this habit but you’re afraid through regular detox and rehab you won’t be able to handle the withdrawal symptoms and you’ll go crazy. With rapid detox you are sedated and a procedure is performed that blocks the opiate receptors from going to your brain. When you wake you are cured and have no memory of going through withdrawal.
Alcohol Recovery: It’s Why You’re Here
The point of rehab is not just to remove the chemical and physical dependency of alcohol from your body but it’s to teach you the tools you will need to achieve alcohol recovery once you exit rehab. During rehab you’ll meet with counselors and doctors and talk about some of the issues that might be causing you to turn to alcohol as a coping mechanism. You will also meeting with other addicts in the program, in group meetings, and hear their stories. Upon leaving, you’ll set up help on the outside. You’ll be given names of AA meeting places and be told to find a sponsor and sober buddies that will help you during the difficult times where you want a drink.
